This project was interesting and challenging for us to complete. It involved significant alterations and additions to the existing 4 level house. An added complication was that a large proportion of the work was completed while the clients lived on site.
The first task involved the construction of a lift pit in the basement and underpinning of the existing foundations in this area. The lift design allowed for access to all 4 levels. The existing bedrooms on levels 3 & 4 were extended allowing for a new ensuite & walk in wardrobe to the master bedroom.
The living area was also redesigned including the addition of a large tiled deck with bifolding door access from level 4. The support columns to the deck were structural steel on concrete foundations. These foundations were further supported by a new concrete block retaining wall and patio area on level 2.
A new Monotech cladding on a cavity system was installed to all areas affected by the alterations.
The project was completed on time and within budget. This was achieved through careful planning and close liaison with the client at all times.
