934 Cameron Road
This project was divided into three stages.
Stage 1 involved extensions to the main building auditorium to allow additional seating and a new stage with adjacent storage areas.
Stage 2 involved an extension to the building to form a new kitchen facility; installation of new bifolding doors and an external deck area; demolition of a storeroom to allow formation of new ladies toilets, and a new entry foyer with bifolding doors to the main auditorium.
Stage 3 involved remodeling the men’s toilets and demoliting the old kitchen to form a new mother's room.
The project was staged to allow the Church to continue to use the facility and relocate from each area as required.
Regular communication between the client and contractor was essential and this was achieved throughout the project.
Due to the continued public use of the building, a strict control on health and safety issues was maintained.
Each stage of the works was completely hoarded off from the public with appropriate signage and hazard identification displayed at all times.
The church also employed separate contractors and volunteers for some areas of the project such as gib stopping and painting.
An excellent and happy relationship was maintained between all parties.
The project was completed on time and the final account was also resolved quickly. Regular cost updates had been provided and agreed throughout the project in order to achieve this result.
